Elecampagne Root Spagyric produced via Maceration with Spiritus Vini - 11/2024

This botanical product is crafted in the tradition of plant Spagyrics as is often credited to Paracelsus (Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim) in the 1500's.
Process:Starting with dried Elecampagne root: the plant material is soaked at a 5:1 ratio of ethanol distilled from grape wine I ferment right here in my home laboratory. This process takes 2-4 weeks.
The resulting tincture is then filtered and distilled to separate out the volatile from the dross, producing a liquid base which is then distilled a second time (and sometimes a third) to obtain a sharp ethanol of at least 160 proof (80% ABV); and a rich hydrosol which is used for other purposes - such as room sprays, lotions, and other beauty products. This process takes 3-9 days.
The mineral salts are extracted from the spent plant material via calcination, which is a high heat incineration that drives off the carbon and other impurities. The ashes which result are dissolved into water where the salts of the plant are brought into suspension, and run through a filter to separate out the dross of the ashes themselves. After evaporating off all the excess water, the salts crystallize into a clear to white substance which is primarily potassium, but includes other water-soluble constituents of the plant which were locked away in the physical body of it. This process takes 2-6 days.
The salts and essential oil are then married back into the sharpened plant essence, and set to circulate. The tincture picks up a mellow color from the volatile portion of the salts (as well as the entirely volatile oil), producing a whole plant essence in the Spagyric tradition. This process takes 14 days to six weeks.
The finished tincture is carefully decanted to leave behind the undissolved salts and any of the excess water which they've attracted, and the resulting product is bottled and ready to be shipped to you. The whole process takes between 20 days and 12 weeks, and every step is performed with mindfulness and attention to producing a high quality Spagyric Essence.
